As I use WordPress I find out just how great of a blogging program it is, even thought its wide open and you can hack and edit what you want, its also has a big community and already has lots of things you need. A while back I had to turn on ‘register to comment’ as I was getting 10+ spam comments per day, then I found si-captcha for WP, now I don’t get spam, and people are free to comment without registering.
If you don’t know what captcha is
“A CAPTCHA or Captcha is a type of challenge-response test used in computing to ensure that the response is not generated by a computer.”
The biggest use on the internet for captcha is for making sure a submitted form is done by a human and not a computer automating and (usually) spamming Viagra or fake watches. They do this by making you read text that is hard for a computer to read, and usually humans, but after a few attempts you can usually get by it.
